**Update** I have already had a few ask about where I got these clothes, so check out the captions underneath the pictures!
This week has brought about cooler temps in the morning, prompting me to reach for my sweater or jacket, which is the first sign that FALL IS COMING!! This excites me for a few reasons. One, because it’s rare and short lived! It’s never really clear how many weeks of fall this area in the midwest may get. There have been years where 3 weeks of “crisp” weather quickly turned into hard core winter. Still, there were years where it felt like summer while preparing for a Thanksgiving feast. But, I love it when it comes, for as long as it stays! The second reason I love this time of year is that I get to utilize my summer and fall wardrobe together. By this time of year, I have summer wardrobe pieces that I am, dare I say, SICK of because it feels like they have “worn out” their welcome. Other pieces, though, I like to hang on to a little longer. These are my transition pieces. In this post, I will show you 5 pieces of my summer wardrobe and how to transition a summer clothes to fall.
1.White Dress
Ah, the white dress. We pull this out for Easter, and hold on to it as long as possible. But how long is too long? Well, I say rock that dress all the way into Fall (and even after!). How? Change your sandals for some cute booties and add a long cardigan. Don’t forget to belt it to show or create some curves under those layers!
2. Black Tank
Remember my post about 5 ways to style my black tank here? Well, it’s not just for summer! Take it through the cooler temperatures by adding a flannel and some simple Moto boots.
3. Distressed Denim
I could wear my ripped jeans Every. Day. This summer, I paired them with a simple white t-shirt and flip flops. Once the weather cools down, I will trade my sandals for some cute leopard flats and my army green utility jacket.
4. White Jeans
I don’t care what people say, wear those white jeans WELL after Labor Day! In the summer, I usually pair my white denim with a soft grey tank. For the fall transition, I add my favorite denim jacket and the similar booties that I paired with the white dress.
5. Graphic T-shirt
Who doesn’t love their favorite graphic t-shirt? Well now you can wear it throughout the entire year! In the summer, pair it with some cute cut off shorts and sneakers. In the fall, trade the cutoffs for distressed jeggings and add a slouchy cardigan and you take the word COOL to a whole new level!
