How to Wear Black Leggings (In the Fall)

Subscribe!

Fall is officially here. I’m talking leaves on the ground, chill in the air, consider turning the heat on, and all of my sandals are in a place I can’t grab them even if I wanted to.  Ok maybe not my flip flops.  Those NEVER get put away, amiright?  And since we’re on the subject, neither do my leggings! They are so convenient, maybe too convenient (is there even such a thing?) I would probably wear them every day if I could. My 6 year old keeps me in check though. “Mama. Are you wearing those AGAIN?” She may be able to pinpoint my leggings, but she can’t say that I look like yesterday because I have worn them so many different ways. Talk about getting their worth out of them!!

I am so excited for this post because I got to wear my comfiest leggings of all.  Already have your favorite leggings?  Great!  Use these pics as inspiration.  If not, may I recommend the leggings that I am wearing in this post by Amelia James?  Good friends of mine, Denise and Rachel, are giving my readers a discount.  So if you act quickly, first time shoppers can get 15% off with coupon code AJ2017.  Follow this link to their Facebook page or creep them on Instagram @ajbydeniseandrachel.  Tell them Jenny sent ya!

Before I show you these super comfy leggings and some outfit ideas, let me go over some legging “guidelines”, if you will.

First of all, leggings shouldn’t be worn as pant replacements.  No.  Nuh-uh.  The leggings I am wearing are thick and warm, but everything I pair these leggings with cover my tushy. Ya dig?  Nobody wants to see that!

Also, *personal opinion* For this post, I have paired these leggings with either boots that have a higher shaft, or a sneaker.  I LOVE the detail on these leggings, but it competes with booties!  I just haven’t found the right look with a short boot.  *Try that look at your own risk!

Finally, don’t be afraid to wear these leggings in casual or more business-like settings.  I will give you 6 options for wearing black leggings for either occasion.  Choose one, choose all.  The choice is YOURS!

Disclaimer: You may not be on the legging train like me, and that is OK!  These looks will also pair wonderfully with a black skinny jean, black jegging, boot cut, slim fit, you name it!  Again, more choices, and they’re all yours!!
